David Menendez

David Menendez is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan working with Dr. Susan Gelman. In July 2023, I will start as an assistant professor of Psychology at the University of California-Santa Cruz.

He was a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin – Madison advised by Karl Rosengren and Martha Alibali. His research broadly centers on conceptual development. More specifically, on children’s understanding of the natural world, and how visual representations aid or hinder learning about biology. David is also interested in how socio-cultural factors influence cognitive development. In his spare time he likes to cook and listen to music.
